The ActiveStat application can be divided into three parts: scripts embedded into web pages to gather statistic information, administration interface to configure your statistics system, and reports interface to get information in a convenient form.

To track site visits, you need to embed some code into each page to be tracked. You can select one of the two types of statistics code embedding (PHP + JavaScript code or JavaScript code only). Then you need to edit a few lines in configuration files and tune some features using the administration interface in accordance with your requirements. All gathered statistic information is going to be stored into the database. So, the only thing left for you to do is get statistic reports using the reports interface.
